Game ¨Find Kate¨, a marketing proposal for smartphones

Preview: -No coding or serious programming were used in this project (Graphical, click philosophy). -My proposal tries to investigate: The use of simple games for marketing purposes. The search of personalized advertising in a world of ad-blockers. New ways of engaging with users.   The research: Find Kate is a project created to explore the use of games for marketing purposes. This project started after the confirmation of a curious behavior. A huge amount of users that buy online makes their purchases through mobile devices. This may not seem very reasonable, you can´t make good comparatives since a phone or get extra important information with ease. However, customers are not as reasonable as we may believe, and so, in marketing, we have to pay attention to the details to empathize with the user. People purchase products with their phones because it’s the best moment for them. They are bored in the bus after a hard day of work, and they like to do impulsive low-value acquisitions. My first App without programming

– barcoavigo.com –   I always though that create an app should not be harder than making a website. Fortunately time and technology advance prove me right. At the beginning of 2014 I realize that by mixing some new technologies, I could make one mobile app. I do not know programming and by that time there wasn’t app templates available on codecanyon. Therefore, limited by technology, I decided to make something simple to help my hometown: ¨Barco a Vigo¨, an app that informs about the ferry schedule between Vigo, the biggest city of Galicia, and the two most important towns in the area. Design posters and other marketing material. In conclusion, an interesting project that allowed me to learn about many different technologies. In addition, I could prove that things, in theory unachievable, like create apps if you don’t know programming, can be done if you are a fast learner and can find and manage key information. Technical details of the project and code. Video of the app in use (soon). Official website. Google play.  ...
